Congratulations to the 2018 Model Classroom Grant Recipients!

An “Oasis” Outdoor classroom, a Literacy Lab, and a Center for Business and Collaborative Learning are just a few of this year’s Model Classrooms earning a $10,000 grant through OceanFirst Foundation’s Model Classroom Grant Program. In total, 25 schools shared in $250,000 in major grant awards and winning schools were selected from among 144 applicants.

Each of the schools selected for a $10,000 grant crafted a winning proposal that outlined their bold and innovative vision, creativity and desire to develop a model classroom for learning. The program was open to all K-12 schools in the OceanFirst Bank footprint. Each applicant school not receiving a major award received a $500 gift certificate to Amazon, making OceanFirst Foundation’s total contribution for the 2018 program $309,500.

Awards were made in the following categories:

High Schools  Asbury Park High School, Asbury Park; Atlantic City High School, Atlantic City; Colts Neck High School, Colts Neck; Our Lady of Mercy Academy, Newfield; Wildwood High School, Wildwood and Vineland High School, Vineland.

Middle Schools – Central Regional Middle School, Bayville; Richmond Avenue School, Atlantic City; Toms River Intermediate South, Beachwood; Vineland Public Charter School; Vineland; Wall Township Intermediate School, Wall; Wildwood Middle School, Wildwood and Woodrow Wilson Elementary School, Neptune.

Elementary Schools  Aldrich Elementary School, Howell; Beachwood Elementary School, Beachwood; East Dover Elementary School, Toms River; G. Harold Antrim Elementary School, Pt. Pleasant Beach; George L. Hess Educational Complex, Mays Landing; Glenwood Avenue Elementary School, Wildwood; Howard C. Johnson Elementary School, Jackson; Joseph A. Citta Elementary School, Toms River; Memorial Elementary School, Howell; North Main Street School, Pleasantville; Silver Bay Elementary School, Toms River and Switlik Elementary School, Jackson.
