OceanFirst Foundation has a strong commitment to helping our neighbors and we know that sometimes needs can be met with just a little help from community partners. The Good Neighbor Grant Program provides grants of up to $5,000 for programs/projects with a broad benefit or up to $3,500 for special event sponsorship. Organizations that have not previously received a grant should first contact the Foundation to be screened for eligibility. In addition, hospital organizations should contact the Foundation for specific directions on how to apply – do not follow the instructions below.
Instructions for Applying for a Good Neighbor Grant FOR PROGRAM/PROJECT SUPPORT
The Foundation considers requests for Good Neighbor Grants to support programs and special projects once per year. Organizations may apply for one program/project support grant each year. Requests made through the Good Neighbor Grant program may not exceed $5,000. If your organization is seeking a grant of $5,001 or more, please consider the Major Grant program. Organizations may not submit both a Good Neighbor Grant and Major Grant request for the same program so please choose carefully where your request fits best. Requests must address one of the Foundation’s priorities and applicants must demonstrate a significant impact within the OceanFirst Foundation footprint of Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Middlesex (Monroe Twp.), Monmouth and Ocean counties. In addition, applicants must have tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status with the IRS and be compliant with the State of New Jersey’s charitable registration requirements.

Instructions for Applying for a Good Neighbor Grant FOR SPECIAL EVENT SUPPORT
These grants are considered on a rolling basis and a two-month lead time is strongly recommended. If your organization is interested in applying for a Good Neighbor Grant for event support there are three simple steps to follow:
- Call the Foundation office at (732) 341-4676 to discuss your special event. We’ll advise you on whether your request fits within our guidelines.
- If the Foundation is interested in considering your organization’s request, you will be asked to send a copy of the event brochure/sponsorship information to the Foundation office. Be sure that it includes all pertinent information including the purpose of the event, the date and location, a point of contact with a daytime phone number and email address. You’ll also need to let us know if you require an OceanFirst ad or logo and what size and format is preferred.
- If your Good Neighbor Grant is approved, we’ll provide you with an online grant application to complete and submit.
