Home Runs for Heroes Celebrates its 10th Anniversary Season!

January 15, 2018

Spring training will be here before you know it and when the players return to the field in April, we’ll be celebrating 10 amazing years of Home Runs for Heroes! This special partnership with the Lakewood BlueClaws,  a minor league team of the Philadelphia Phillies, and Townsquare Media stations, Beach Radio 1160 & 1310 and 92.7 WOBM, has scored big over the past nine seasons with more than $260,000 in grants awarded to our partner charities.

Home Runs for Heroes provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that have distinct programs that help meet the emergency and basic needs of Veterans and local members of the United States Armed Forces during difficult times. Programs like the Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski, II Memorial Fund which provides service dogs and other supports to recovering soldiers and Army Emergency Relief which provides financial and educational assistance to members of the Army, eligible family members, retirees and survivors in times of need.

Home Runs for Heroes ties each charity partner to an inning and every home run hit by the BlueClaws at First Energy Park during the charity’s designated inning earns them a $1,000 donation. They also receive awesome exposure on Townsquare Media stations throughout the baseball season. So be sure to root the team on and follow along with Home Runs for Heroes all season!
