Want to Apply for a Major Grant in 2015? Here's What You Need to Know.
Deadline to Submit a Letter of Interest - March 1, 2015
Happy New Year! We know you've been waiting to hear about our 2015 Major Grant Program so here's everything you need to know to submit a new grant request.
Our funding priorities remain the same supporting Housing, Youth Development and Education, and Improving Health and Wellness and the Quality of Life in the OceanFirst Bank market. The Foundation anticipates awarding approximately $600,000 in Major Grants this year. Typical grants will range from $5,000 $25,000.
To be considered, the first step is for your nonprofit to submit a Letter of Interest (LOI). LOIs must provide a brief background on your organization, how much your organization is requesting and a brief summary of the program/project/purpose for which you seek a grant. Letters may not exceed two pages of narrative and must also include a one page project budget.
Our Major Grant Committee will then conduct a thorough review of the LOIs received to determine which organizations will be invited to move on to the next step which is the submission of a full proposal for consideration.
Please note that if your organization submitted a Letter of Interest in 2014 and your program/project did not receive funding, you may request that it be reconsidered in 2015. If youre unsure about whether your organization previously submitted a LOI, you may contact the Foundation office and we will share what we have on file. If your organizations needs/priorities have changed you may submit a new LOI to be considered.
Further, please note that all Major Grant applicants must have tax-exempt (501c3) status with the IRS, be registered in the State of NJ as a charity and perform a certified annual audit. If invited to proceed to the next stage, there will be additional documentation requirements.
Plan ahead the deadline to submit a Letter of Interest is March 1, 2015 and mailed submissions must be received by the deadline. Email submissions must be sent to email@example.com. Should you have any questions, please dont hesitate to give us a call.
