Q & A with OceanFirst’s WaveMaker of the Month – Rose Ivie

We’re pleased to highlight our OceanFirst Bank colleagues who are making a difference with the Foundation’s nonprofit community partners – we call them the “WaveMakers” and they are extraordinary leaders and volunteers.

How long have you been a member of the OceanFirst team?

Eight years.

Tell us about your favorite volunteer activities.

I have volunteered for Egg Harbor Township Youth Softball League for the last 5 years and I have been on the EHT High School Softball Booster Club for 4 years. CCD teacher up until last year at St. Katherine Drexel.

What motivates you to stay involved and give back through volunteering?

My children and their team mates. I love to see the smiles on the girl’s faces as they grow together as a team and become confident and responsible young ladies.

What do you do when you aren’t volunteering?

I love spending with my family enjoying each other and vacationing. Family means everything.

What aspects of your work at you most passionate about? 

I am passionate about satisfying our customers and seeing that my team grows new relationships and along with professionalism and teamwork.

Who inspires you? Why ?

My children. My Children are hardworking and intelligent young ladies who are poised to become tomorrow’s leaders.

What experience has been most impactful for you?

The responsibility of my Area Operations position has given me the opportunity to meet and form new relationships with my branch teams.

What has been you’re favorite volunteer activity – and why?

The Charity Softball tournaments that raise funds Breast Cancer and Ovarian Cancer Research. Women supporting women’s causes is powerful.
