Meet OceanFirst’s WaveMaker of the Month – Beth Morgenweck

May 1, 2022

We’re pleased to highlight our OceanFirst Bank colleagues who are making a difference with the Foundation’s nonprofit partners – we call them the “WaveMakers” and they’re extraordinary leaders and volunteers.

How long have you been a member of the OceanFirst Bank team? What role do you play on the Bank Team?

Just under 20 years. Assistant Vice President/Marketing Operations.

What has been your favorite volunteer activity – and why?

I enjoy doing beach and community clean up initiatives. It’s something I can do with my family. It’s a great way to teach my kids about taking care of the planet.

What has volunteering taught you?

Small acts add up.

Are you a traveler or a homebody?

 Definitely a homebody.

Do you sing in the shower? In the car?

I often serenade my kids. But can’t figure out why they want to wear ear muffs in the dead of summer.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

If you could turn into an animal, what would it be?

A Bird. And fly far, far away.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Night owl 100%.

If you could be a kitchen utensil, what would be and why?

A whisk, of course… Who wouldn’t want to be a whisk?

What is the last TV show you binged and what review would you give it?

Bridgerton.

What was the last thing that made you laugh?

Definitely something Cami said.

What is your favorite quote?

“Somebody’s gotta nail that girls fins to the floor” ~ Sebastian, the Reggae singing crab from The Little Mermaid.

Who would play you in a movie about your life?

Kristen Bell.
