We’re pleased to highlight our OceanFirst Bank colleagues who are making a difference with the Foundation’s nonprofit community partners – we call them the “WaveMakers” and they are extraordinary leaders and volunteers.
How long have you been a member of the OceanFirst team?
I joined OceanFirst in March, 2002.
Tell us about your favorite volunteer activities.
I enjoy assisting children who are at risk by fundraising, planning special events and engaging the community to assist us in our efforts. I also work with several non-profits serving as a member of their planned giving committees that will provide long term sustainability for these organizations.
What motivates you to stay involved and give back through volunteering?
The short term, mid term and long term impact that volunteering can have on the community.
What activities do you enjoy in your spare time?
I thoroughly enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren. I am a summer girl and look forward to all the outdoor activities that a Jersey Shore summer season entails. I love to read.
What do you do when you aren’t volunteering?
I can be found working or enjoying our home and family.
What aspects of your work are you most passionate about?
Helping individuals and families plan for their future; developing long lasting relationships with our clients
Who inspires you? Why ?
My family as well as my past experiences.
What experience has been most impactful for you?
Seeing a young person rise above adversity through hard work, reaching out for help and then paying it forward.
What has been your favorite volunteer activity and why?
Working towards expanding programs and resources for at risk youth and seeing the end results.
