Event Description:
CONTACT of Ocean & Monmouth Counties is seeking compassionate volunteers to join their Crisis Hotline team. This free, in‑person training provides the essential skills needed to support callers in moments of distress. Volunteers will learn active listening, a specialized communication skill that emphasizes empathy, openness, and non‑judgmental support.
CONTACT operates a 24-hour crisis intervention hotline, offering confidential, anonymous emotional support and connecting individuals with vital community resources.
Who Should Attend:
- Adults 18 years or older
- Individuals with basic computer skills (or a willingness to learn)
- Community members who want to make a meaningful difference
