At OceanFirst, we recognize that supporting local arts and cultural organizations is key to the growth and development of our people and our economy. That’s why we’ve invested more than $2 million in organizations that are positive catalysts for bringing people and neighborhoods together while providing enriching arts and cultural opportunities.
In 2018, $150,000 will be awarded to support programs, events and advertising (typical grants range from $500 – $5,000). An enhanced priority for the Foundation this year is supporting partnerships and programs between Arts & Cultural organizations and K-12 schools. A minimum of 50% of our investment in Arts & Cultural organizations in 2018 will be targeted to these efforts.
Nonprofit organizations interested in applying for an Arts & Cultural Grant must submit either electronically or by mail, in one complete package, a summary of programs and events along with any related sponsorship material that outlines giving options. Organizations that have not finalized plans and marketing materials for the current year may send either last year’s information (for repeat programs/events) or a list of anticipated programs with sponsorship levels/pricing. Organizations that are applying for programs that include a K-12 school focus should also provide a letter of support from partnering districts/schools if available. Email submissions should be sent to email@example.com with “Arts & Cultural Grant Submission” in the subject line.
The Foundation will then thoroughly review all submissions and make a final decision on grants to be awarded. Please note that applicant organizations must provide services within the OceanFirst footprint and have 501(c)(3) tax exempt status with the IRS. In addition, applicants should be registered in New Jersey as a charity and perform a certified annual audit if required to do so. We confirm tax-exempt status and NJ Charity Registration each time an organization applies.
Organizations that have not previously received a grant from OceanFirst Foundation should first contact the Foundation office to be screened for eligibility.
Please plan ahead
The deadline to apply is February 15, 2018.
