International Women’s Day

We’re proud to celebrate the achievements of women around the world on International Women’s Day and we’re especially thankful to the bold leaders and talented women working and volunteering within the nonprofit sector. We also celebrate the women of OceanFirst Foundation and the WaveMakers and WomenLEAD members at OceanFirst Bank who contribute their time and talents to support our neighbors and build up the next generation of women leaders.

Our commitment to International Women’s Day focused on partnering with 30 of our colleagues at OceanFirst Bank to provide meaningful volunteer service at women-led nonprofits that support women. At 180 Turning Lives Around our volunteers presented financial literacy education to women in their domestic violence support program; at Dottie’s House, an apartment was spruced up to get ready for a family coming to stay at the transitional shelter; at Mercy Center‘s Sisters Academy, our team shared experiences with 12 eighth-grade young ladies who also wrote letters to their future selves and talked about how to achieve goals; at MudGirls Studios team members prepped ceramic pieces to be sold to benefit MudGirls training and women’s employment programs; and at Sisters with Purpose, valuable financial literacy education was shared with women interested in building their skills and knowledge.
